FAQs
Q. What is Preventative Physical Therapy?
Preventative Physical Therapy is carefully curated training designed to maximise the quality and length of your life. Preventative Physical Therapy cannot and does not prevent all future injuries. Injuries are multi-factorial and unpredictable, however it is well established that exercise is the most important factor in lowering risk of all-cause mortality as well as reducing the risk of injuries during athletic, recreational and occupational activity. Preventative Physical Therapy is the proactive approach to exercise and health.
Q. What are Preventative Evaluations?
Preventative evaluations are designed to identify future risk of injury and lifestyle deficits. Both objective testing and subjective reports are taken into account to complete a risk assessment and identify areas of high importance for training purposes. With each Evaluation you will receive an Evaluation Report documenting the findings.
Q. What is Private Training?
Private Training is a comprehensive program designed by a licensed physical therapist to mitigate risk as well as allow you to live as well as possible for as long as possible. While exercise is our primary tool, coaching will also include nutrition, sleep hygiene, stress management and integrated strategies to improve overall health.
Private Training takes place under my direct supervision at your preferred location. Initially, a Preventative Evaluation is required whereby we assess your current limitations and biggest risks for future complications. With this Preventative Evaluation Report, you will have three options:
- Train Privately with me to address deficits identified in your Preventative Evaluation Report.
- Train Remotely with me to address deficits identified in your Preventative Evaluation Report.
- Attempt to mitigate deficits identified in your Preventative Evaluation Report on your own.
Q. What is Remote Training?
Remote Training is self-directed training at your preferred location. Remote training can come in two forms:
- Personalised Training involves an individually derived program specifically catered to your risk assessment and personal goals. These programs involve Weekly check-ins via email, as well as a Monthly check-in via phone/video call to assess progress, provide feedback and make changes for the upcoming month.
- General Training involves a monthly subscription to a curated training plan designed to provide effective resistance training for health-driven individuals. This training is designed to fulfil the recommended weekly amount of resistance training as part of an overall active lifestyle.
